On Saturday November 11th Antri, Serge and I went up on Mt. Lipsett. When we arrived at the base we didn't know where the trail started so we asked a couple of hunters where to go. They told us that there was a trail / old logging road a couple hundred meters down the
road. But as stoburn as we were we started bushwhacking a little bit and found a trail. A little further ahead we ran into the hunters again and they told us that we were on the trail to Mist Mountain. As foolish as we felt we tracked to the left and bushwhacked up until we ran into a trail again.

Following this trail, which was covered with snow up to our ankles, to tree line we could see the summit in big grey clouds. After scrambling up to a lower summit and a small ridge we summited Mt. Lipsett where Antri decided to check out the way down to the col between Mist and Lipsett.

When we left the summit, in still grey conditions, we ran into 4 guys on snowshoes. We wished them good luck and continued further down where we found 2 other guys on the lower peak.

At the same time the weather became really bad and we were in a complete white-out. Lucky for us we almost reached the tree line / trail again. After a long slog (12 km up and down in total) through the snow we reached the car again under a blue sky ;-( And beside all that the trail went all the way back where we ran into those hunters. So we had the right trail from the start on.

At the car one of the other guys we met on the mountain showed up asking us if we had seen his partners. In the white-out he became lost, slipped and fell over a cliff losing his snowshoes and camera. He came down through a gully between Mist and Lipsett. He was really in shock when he came down and didn't know what to do. We decided to wait with him and after waiting in Antri's car for 30 min his partners showed up. They were even talking about going up again to look for those snowshoes and camera even though it was already 4 PM

So: Never trust hunters and if you need snowshoes, there is a pair on Lipsett.

The day started out nice
But dark clouds were rolling in
Ankle deep snow on the trail
Antri coming up
Antri with the summit in the background
A little detour
No 24
Serge and Antri on the summit
Where are the views?

And the sun came through again

So that's where the trails starts/ends (look for some big rocks at the trailhead)
