Trip details on Brachiopod and Anthezoan: Another long day with Kevin and Dave as well as Kelly who came down from Edmonton. Since Kevin didn’t had a bike in Calgary we had decided to walk the road but fortunately we got a ride for the last 1.5 km. We made good time up to Boulder Pass and beyond and in about 4 hrs from the start we were sitting on top of Brachiopod. As others have commented before, the slabs leading up to the summit are more on the moderate end than the easy side of scrambling. Coming down we found a good bypass trail underneath the ridge and it didn’t take very long to get to Anthezoan it’s North summit and then a nice scramble along the ridge led us to the true South summit. We dropped down, about 300 meters back along the ridge, into the valley which worked well although I expect it’s a bit slower than traversing back along the ridge. After a nice long break on the valley floor we did the long trek back to our car…wish we had bikes for that last 4km. Beers in the parking lot were great, thanks again Kelly for your ongoing service!!!
