  • Heart Mountain is probably one of the most climbed peaks in the area around Canmore. Very accessible, short en often dry in early spring. It’s only a couple of hours to the summit with a only 1 moderate step which is marked as well. The summit has some nice views over the Bow Valley and Barrier Lake. If you continue to do the horseshoe, like we did, you can also claim the next highpoint since it is an official summit called Grant MacEwan Peak. At that time I didn’t know about this but found out later on the internet, glad I did this loop ;-)

If you are looking for a short and easy day I really recommend this one
