Trip details on Odlum Ridge: And yet another Remembrance Day peak…It has been an annual tradition of mine to get up a peak every November 11th\Remembrance Day. But this year it almost didn’t happen since it looked like I had to work that day. Luckily, I was able to work around it and Dave Salahub was keen enough to also join me (again). We settled on Odlum Ridge since we turned around on this on earlier in the year, although that was already in the parking spot due to miserable weather. This time it was a great sunny day, although windy, for this time of the year. I have been out in -25 on Remembrance Day but this time we probably were in the 10-15-degree range which is a difference of up to 40 degrees!

On the way up we almost got “lost” due to Dave his GPS and incorrect map but luckily mine was right. The ridge was easily reached and the trail to the first top was completely dry. Between summit 1 and the next two was some snow but nothing deep enough to stop us. From the third summit of the day we dropped down the North ridge back to the road. We had to walk about 3-4 km back to our car but fortunately we got a ride about half way.

Again, a great day out in the hills with surprisingly nice weather for this time of the year.
